If we believe that talented, skilled people are a scarce recourse, then we have no choice but to focus as much on internal recruiting as we do on external recruiting. Perhaps the largest sourcing mistake recruiters make is to not look at existing employees as candidates.
There are many reasons for this. Very few organizations have either access to information about employees or supportive HR polices.

This information helps to identify trends and provide a bit of perspective on the recruiting and HR environment.

Recruiters are by and large some of the hardest working people I know. They toil away at finding candidates, scheduling interviews, meeting with hiring managers, inputting data into the applicant tracking system, posting jobs on job boards and corporate websites, and assessing candidates for fit.
