Workforce planning is the process of deciding how many people you will need in a particular area in a certain period of time. And conversely, it's also taking a hard look at the market for talent and assessing how many people are available and how difficult to will be to hire them.
There are a number of questions to ask as you enter into this process:
After you have answers to these questions, you need to prioritize the needs you have identified. Which positions are the most critical to your organization's success? Where should you concentrate resources? Is college recruiting an option and, if so, for which types of positions? Even if the answers are just best guesses, you are in a better position to source likely candidates.
